Rancho
Quieto, Twenty-Nine Palms, California.

Rancho
Quieto is a small ranch-style bungalow on five acres in Twenty-Nine Palms with
a beautiful desert view looking north across the valley. Nothing fancy, it consists
of a large living room, a bedroom and bath, a kitchen, a walled patio, and a
weatherized porch that extends around the north and east sides of the building.
The site is perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer retreat away from the
hustle and bustle of the city.

Twentynine
Palms, California, the Oasis of Murals, gateway to Joshua
Tree National Park, is located in the Morongo Basin near the high-desert
communities of Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley and Pioneertown. The high desert
is home to many artists, craftspeople and musicians, to a vigorous outdoors
community, to the country's largest military base, and to a year-round
festival of music, art, theater and other cultural events.

Two deserts -- their
particular habitats determined primarily by elevation -- border each other
in Joshua Tree National Park. Below 3,000 feet, the eastern part of the
park is a part of the Colorado Desert and features natural gardens of creosote
bush, ocotillo and cholla cactus. The remainder of the park is in the higher,
moister, slightly cooler Mojave Desert. It is here that you find the familiar
Joshua tree forests. In addition to Joshuas, the western part of the park
is also punctuated by five fan palm oases where there is water and abundant
wildlife. Joshua Tree National Park is famous for some of the most beautiful
hiking and rock climbing in California. |
